Connecting with Country


Development of Connecting with Country strategies

  • We work closely with our clients to help build a clear understanding around how the Connecting with Country Framework can bring a range of positive outcomes for developments through building stronger connections with Custodians and communities.

  • Our team has extensive experience in building Connecting with Country processes and advisory mechanisms into the lifecycle of developments to ensure that Country centred ways of working become standard practice across their business.

Building meaningful partnerships with local communities through Connecting with Country

  • Utilising our unique processes for community engagement, we assist in the development of meaningful and long term partnerships between local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and our clients utilising the Connecting with Country Framework.

  • We develop long term relationships with our clients to ensure that we walk alongside them on their Connecting with Country journey. This ensures that their organisation is set up to successfully continue and build on this critical work across their business.

A strong foundation for Designing with Country

  • Our processes and methodologies are designed to provide a solid foundation for all future Designing with Country project deliverables. By working in partnership with Custodians and communities, we ensure that design teams are provided with a clear set of priorities for how Country should be connected with and cared for into the future.

  • Our team works alongside First Nations designers to ensure that we are empowering their processes by building stronger relationships with Custodians and community members to allow for a more Country centred design process.

Building Community Connections & Reconciliation Pathways


Community Consultation and Engagement

  • Early stage community consultation planning for major projects and government services.

  • Engagement Frameworks to enable strong connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities across organisations in the areas of employment, procurement and community social impact.

Reconciliation Action Plan Development and Evaluation

  • Design and implementation of custom RAPs that are built around the size and capabilities of organisations and agencies.

  • Detailed Evaluations on the impact level of RAPs and where improvements are required for meaningful outcomes.

Reconciliation Discovery

  • Early phase RAP Discovery processes which allows organisations to commence early stage explorations around why they wish to commence their RAP Journey.

  • We walk alongside organisations to develop the tools needed to strategically plan how a RAP will fit within their broader frameworks and identify organisation strengths that will act as the foundation for future RAP success.

Organisational Cultural Capability

  • Development of organisation-wide cultural capability programs and strategies that aim to fundamentally shift the way leadership and staff engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and people.

  • Design and implementation of cultural capability training programs utilising some of the country’s most regarded Indigenous facilitators.

  • Design and delivery of strategic supplier matching events to create connections between major contractors and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses.

  • Customised supplier engagement processes to minimise the resources needed to quickly onboard Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander suppliers on projects.

  • Development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander business specific tendering and EOI processes for metropolitan, regional and remote projects.

Program and Policy Design


Program Development

  • We have extensive experience in the design and implementation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander programs and initiatives spanning across the areas of Justice, Community Services, Housing, Disability Services, Indigenous business support and Repatriation.

  • Our community co-design methodology ensures that program development is undertaken in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities so that their ambitions and aspirations are imbedded in services.

Research and Evaluation

  • A range of research methodologies stemming across projects in human services, procurement, infrastructure project planning and cultural capability.

  • Various program and process evaluations which can be tailored to the needs of the organisation, their client or the communities they service. Our evaluation experience also covers rapid evaluation process through to large scale program/service evaluations

Social Policy Design

  • We work closely with communities, government agencies and organisations to design culturally informed policies and procedures that aim to empower Indigenous peoples.

  • Strong experience in community co-designed data and outcome measurement policies and procedures utilising culturally validated measurement tools and processes.

  • We have extensive experience in policy development and evaluation programs utilising a mixed methodology approach spanning across communities in a number of states and territories.
